The electronical fiberglass fabric is made by high quality E glass fiber filament yarn. E glass is electric grade glass with R2O content less than 0.8% specially design for electronic glass application initially. The application of E glass fiber has been far beyond initial destination. E glass takes possess 80-90% production yield.The Na2O and K2O in the conventional glass fiber is the most serious problem for the electronic application.  
 
It is necessary to strictly control the R2O content in the glass fiber composition. From the test, the volume resistance of glass fiber will add 101 when R2O (Na2O+K2O) content from 1.6% down to 0.5%. 7628 fiberglass cloth is the most typical electrical glass cloth. 7628 glass is woven by EC9 68x1 Z28 starch fiberglass yarn, 9um fiber diameter formed through 800 holes bushing. During wrapper, the fiberglass yarn was further finished in the slasher with material protecting the yarn from mechanical friction. This process can make sure the final glass cloth minimum flaws, very neat, smoothly that can be uniformly composite with copper sheet.

Electrical fiberglass fabric is woven by jet looms. The high quality fiberglass yarn and reasonable glass yarn finish allow the electric glass cloth high speed woven and 2000meters continuous roll size, meanwhile with minimum flaws. A fabric joint will make producer lose 6-7 meters CCL products.
 

After electrical fiber glass cloth woven, heat clean-post finish are very important to the fiber glass cloth, a procedure low and high temperature, continuous and intermittent finish on the fabric removing the materials on the cloth which applied in the fiberglass yarn before. After starch sizing thoroughly removed, a multiple silane sizing (EAS adopts Dow Corning’s) is finally finished on the fiber glass cloth. Then the fiber glass cloth put on the application for cooper clad lamination.
 
Besides the CCL, FR4 application, for its high quality cloth,  electrical grade fiber glass cloth is an important material for PTFE coated glass cloth and other coating material.
